Main Passage

2 Chronicles 7:11-22

1. Seek God – when we stop depending on ourselves, pray, seek His face, and turn from sin, humility opens the heart to God’s grace
2. Remain faithful – seeking God is not enough if we refuse to follow Him. True repentance produces obedience, and true obedience reveals a heart surrendered to God
3. Do not deviate

For God to continue blessing His temple, He says…

• humble yourselves
• pray
• seek My face
• turn from your wicked ways

Why?
Because God desires restoration

But He also warns:
Do not turn away from Me

The passage therefore gives us both a promise and a warning
We must return to God continually

To those who haven’t yet come to know God in a personal way…

• There is a God who hears, forgives, restores, and receives those who turn to Him
• The forgiveness promised in the Old Testament finds its ultimate fulfillment in Jesus Christ

Jesus bore the judgment our sin deserved, so that those who repent and believe, can receive forgiveness and reconciliation with God

A church that persistently returns to God, becomes a church that reaches people for God
