Nehemiah 1:1–11
The broken walls of Jerusalem were Nehemiah’s burden;
the lost souls around us must become ours
A pastor should not carry the burden alone
The church should not leave the burden to the pastor
The work God places on our hearts requires perseverance, faithfulness, and confidence in His timing
God’s work begins when we, His people allow His concerns, to become the burden of our hearts
The church’s burden is to reach the lost
The pastor’s burden is the spiritual condition of God’s church
And he carries both burdens before God, in prayer and in leadership
When God burdens your heart for a soul, that burden is often God’s invitation to become part of that soul’s journey to Christ
Let us bring it before God, receive His provision, and rise together to do His work
